This LZ was a Battalion Recon outpost located north of Da Nang. |

A sudden gust of wind caused this bird to surge forward and allowed the rotorblades to strike the bunker in front. |
|
|
|
After the collision, the pilot did a great job of stablizing the aircraft, which kept the bird from going over the cliff and resulted in zero casualties. After the Sea Stallion was stripped, an Army CH-54 Flying Crane lifted the '53 back to MMAF. |
