Convoy to Quang Tri
Cpl Frank Emigh catches a ride on an Army convoy to barter canned pork for fruit and brown ice.

Frank Emigh:
"I remember when we first went to Quang Tri and set up Detachment A.  Seems like it was early summer 68: not sure.  We had no hooches ... lived in tents.  They had a small mess hall, but we were not allowed to use it as we were not part of their group.  We parked our birds at the north end of the mat and had 3 tents, a generator, and a water buffalo.  We called ourselves the "Quang Tri Circus."  Our sleeping tents were at the south end of Quang Tri, and we had a trailer that we pulled behind our Ford farm tractor.  We would all load onto that trailer at night and ride down to the tents and go to sleep.  Later we moved to the eastside of the mat where the hangers were, but we still just had tents for shops.  The engineers came in and built us some nice hooches to sleep in, and we build new bunkers."
